Parents and Teachers
PARENTS & TEACHERS
Parental support is essential for the success of any program. Working alone or through a PTO group, they can be lobby for the inclusion of dance in the curriculum and help to establish extra-curricular clubs.
Parents can provide transportation and supervision, especially for younger students. They can also attend performances or competitions to support and cheer on their children.
Lessons and skills learned in Ballroom Dance extend far beyond the setting in which they are taught. In addition to the benefits of exercise on mental processes and physical well-being, dance spans the curriculum and has applications in Social Studies, Literature, World Language, even Mathematics and Science! Visit the “Resources” section to find suggestions, lesson plans, and materials.
Dance performances can deepen and expand the experience of many of the “special” days celebrated in the classroom, like Cinco de Mayo, Homecoming or Prom.
