Seeking Governing Council Volunteers

USA Dance Is Seeking Volunteers for the Following Positions:

The position of Senior Vice President, USA Dance, Inc. President, Gary Stroick is requesting interested and qualified candidates submit their resumes, vision and bios for consideration to President@usadance.org. Any dance member in good standing may apply to this position.

The ByLaws specifically address the situation when an officer position becomes vacated. Below is a summary of the ByLaw process:

Officers:

  1. Upon vacancy the President has ten days to send out an email notification of the vacancy along with a request for applications to the membership (President or designee may do this). Email must be used. Other channels may be used in addition to email.
  2. Upon email notification being sent the President must wait a minimum of ten days before appointing a replacement.
  3. Applications should be sent to the President or their designee.
  4. President reviews all applications prior to appointing a replacement.
  5. The President may then appoint a replacement subject to ratification by the GC.

Senior Vice President Position – Officer:

The position of Senior Vice President is a volunteer position. The membership categories that will be involved in upcoming elections of the Senior Vice President will be determined by the GC in conjunction with the newly appointed Senior Vice President. Once the membership categories for these elections have been determined an announcement will be made to the membership. Senior Vice President shall act as the and oversee and guide the administration and development of USA Dance, Inc., in the United States in accordance with policies of the GC; submit annual business plan and budget in conjunction with the President and Treasurer; as prescribed in the Parliamentary Authority and/or designated by the President, EC or GC.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a senior elected official of USA Dance, the Senior Vice President should have substantial management and administrative experience in order to execute the duties of the position, including managing the budget, providing inspirational vision and leadership: significant knowledge of all aspects of USA Dance, Inc., work well under the direction of the President, actively promote USA Dance, Inc: support the processes within USA Dance, Inc: have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate the goals and mission of USA Dance, Inc., including growth of dance as a social, healthy and competitive sports endeavor. The Senior Vice President must be able to work cooperatively with and provide advice and direction on a broad range of issues to all levels of the USA Dance, Inc., organization.

Directorship Openings:

USA Dance is seeking a volunteer to assist in the management of USA Dance as the Director of Administrative Support. The individual fulfilling this role will be a voting member of the USA Dance Governing Council and will oversee the Legal Affairs and the Information Technology Committees. This individual needs to meet the following qualifications:

  • Experienced in contract negotiations
  • Experienced in filing trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office
  • Experienced in reading and understanding legal documents
  • Experienced in working with legal teams
  • Experienced in enabling organizations through the use of information technology
  • Experienced in managing information technology providers and leading information technology teams
  • Knowledgeable of USA Dance bylaws, policies, and procedures

USA Dance is seeking a volunteer to assist in the management of USA Dance as the Director of Marketing. The individual fulfilling this role will be a voting member of the USA Dance Governing Council and will oversee the Public Relations, Organizational Brand, Marketing and Promotion of USA Dance. This individual needs to meet the following qualifications:

  • Experienced in Public Relations
  • Experienced in developing the USA Dance Brand
  • Experienced in promoting organizations
  • Oversee Marketing Committees
  • Experienced in developing the use of information technology to increase brand awareness and marketing opportunities
  • Experienced in supporting multiple organizational requirements throughout the organization
  • Experienced in managing the day to day requirements of the Marketing functions
  • Knowledgeable of USA Dance bylaws, policies, and procedures

USA Dance is seeking a volunteer to assist in the management of USA Dance as the Director of Development. The individual fulfilling this role will be a voting member of the USA Dance Governing Council and will oversee Organizational Development and Funding Requirements. This individual needs to meet the following qualifications:

  • Experienced in integrative organizational development
  • Provide leadership in expanding organizational opportunities for USA Dance
  • Experienced in coordinating internal functions within USA Dance to create Organizational efficiency
  • Oversee Development Committees
  • Develop internal and external relationships with the purpose of creating supporting funding for the mission of USA Dance
  • Support the tactical functions of funding and organizational development within the non-profit arena
  • Knowledgeable of USA Dance bylaws, policies, and procedures
