We offer teams two methods of being part of the USA Dance College Network - joining as an Official USA Dance Team or registering your club with us.

 

Join as an Official USA Dance Team

Becoming an Official USA Dance Team is an incredible opportunity for your college club to gain recognition, unlock exclusive benefits, and build a strong foundation for success. Whether you’re looking to grow your team, secure funding, or provide more opportunities for your dancers, joining as an official team ensures your club is part of a thriving collegiate network with access to invaluable resources.

College Club Benefits

As an Official USA Dance Team, your club will enjoy:

 

  • Prestigious Recognition
    • Affiliation with the USOPC-recognized organization for DanceSport—a distinction that can enhance your club’s standing with college administrations and may even be a requirement for Sport Club funding.
  • Membership Discounts
    • 10% discount on competition memberships and 50% discount on social memberships for all college student members.
  • Enhanced Financial Assistance
    • Greater eligibility for National Collegiate DanceSport Championship (NCDC) financial aid:
      • Non-affiliated teams receive uncapped assistance for a limited time, after which assistance becomes capped.
      • Official teams have continuous access to uncapped support.
  • Competition Benefits
    • Discounted sanction fees for USA Dance competitions, including a $100 discount for a College Challenge event.
  • Coach Membership Perks
    • Up to two free USA Dance coach memberships for your team. Additional coach memberships are available at a discounted rate.
  • Individual Membership Benefits
    • Members of your team will enjoy all the perks of individual USA Dance membership, including:
      • Eligibility to participate in qualifying events and Nationals.
      • Discounts with dance vendors like DSI and DanceVision.
      • Travel discounts.
  • Structural Benefits for Your Club
    • Access to non-profit fundraising support: USA Dance can accept donations on your club’s behalf and provide tax receipts to donors.
    • Coverage under USA Dance’s music licenses (BMI, ASCAP, etc.) for events.
    • Event insurance for USA Dance College Challenges, ensuring peace of mind for organizers and participants.

 

Club Requirements

To qualify as an Official USA Dance Team, your club must meet these requirements:

 

  • Membership Requirements
    • Have at least 10 members.
    • Ensure all coaches (amateur or professional) are USA Dance members and complete SafeSport training.
    • All dues-paying members of the club must hold a USA Dance membership.
      • For clubs without dues-paying members, participants attending five or more club events yearly must hold a membership.
  • Club Responsibilities
    • Designate one officer as a SafeSport Liaison.
    • Have the Club Owner, President, or Supervising Department agree to the Terms & Conditions.
  • Membership Fee
    • The annual membership fee for an Official Team Membership is $125.

Register Your Club with the College Network

Not ready to become an Official USA Dance Team? No problem! You can still register your club with us to join our growing network of college ballroom teams. Registration is quick, easy, and completely free—and it opens the door to a host of valuable opportunities.

How to Register

Signing up is simple. Just fill out our form with the following details:

  • Name of College
  • Name of Club
  • Name of Club President or Contact Person
  • Contact Phone Number
  • Team Email Address
