USA Dance Education Department Mission
The mission of the USA Dance Education Department is to introduce to the general public the benefits of dance as a social activity that enhances mental and physical fitness and to further the creativity and accomplishments of competitive dance athletes.
The USA Dance Education Department does this through the formation, development and sanctioning of training programs, workshops, and training camps. Sanctioning of educational dance camps assures consistency in training for both the general public and dance athletes of all ages from highly trained and highly skilled instructors, trainers, and coaches who present workshops on all aspects of dance from basic social through championship competitive dance training.
USA Dance reaches out to trainers, instructors and coaches who have interesting and innovative educational and training systems for young children wheelchair athletes and others with mental or physical challenges.
In cooperation with the USA Dance Examinations Department, the USA Dance Education Department organizes training sessions and congresses for the exchange of professional experience, training for and passing of professional certification examinations and general training of the organization’s coaching staff.
The benefits of dance include physical exercise along with maintaining mental acuity. In addition, the creative and artistic aspects of dance are used for exhibition-style dancing. In the competitive arena, dancers of all ages and skill levels are able to present their accomplishments in dance in events that give instant feedback on those accomplishments.
Through its Education Department, USA Dance brings the art and joy of dance to as many people as possible, including dance fitness programs for all ages and particularly for the elderly. The organization also offers courses on wheelchair dancing and for persons with mental or physical challenges. Via its Solo Proficiency programs, the USA Dance Education Department brings the benefits of dance to people who, for whatever reason, have no partner with whom to dance.
