Second Sunday Dance—October 13, 2019 Annual Election for Chapter Officers This Month's Instructor--Mark Baker 4th Sunday Dance (Halloween Theme)--October 27, 2019 Second Sunday Dance—October 13, 2019 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Baker will teach a beginning Rumba class at 5:00 pm and an intermediate class at 6:00 pm. Open dancing will be from 7:00 until 9:30 pm. Times 5-6 pm: beginning lesson 6-7 pm: intermediate lesson 7-9:30 pm: open dancing Location 1626 Willamette Street (Veterans’ Memorial Building), 2nd floor, Eugene, Oregon Cost $10.00 general admission $7.00 for members and full-time students with ID Annual Election for Chapter Officers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attention USA Dance Members. It is time to elect new (or old) board officers. This year we elect President and Secretary. Nominations are open now & there will be nomination forms at the dance this Sunday, 13 October. If you cannot make the dance, feel free to email Pat Ryan, cpat@uoregon.edu, with your nomination. Remember that both the nominator and nominee must be current USA Dance members. Elections will take place at the dance on 10 November. There will be more information this Sunday. If you want to vote or nominate (or serve) and are not currently a member, it is not too late. This Month's Instructor--Mark Baker ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Baker received his BA in Ballroom Dance in 2005 from Brigham Young University. During his time at BYU he trained and performed with the world famous BYU Ballroom Dance touring company. With the company, Mark performed and competed extensively throughout the United States, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. In 2004 and 2005 Mark won two US Ballroom Dance Latin Formation titles as well as won the prestigious Blackpool England Latin Formation Title in 2004. Also Mark taught for BYU for 5 years and received the 2004 "Top Teacher" award for teaching excellence. Following his studies at BYU Mark went on to teach at three different universities coaching the 2009 US Latin and Standard formation champions. He is now the Assistant Ballroom Dance Director at Oregon State University for the past 6 years. Mark is currently a US Ballroom Dance professional and teaches here in Eugene and in Corvallis. He travels to compete all over the US and internationally. He brings a tremendous amount of experience and teaching expertise gained from an extensive professional performing and teaching career. 4th Sunday Dance—October 27, 2019 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Halloween Theme: Costumes are encouraged!
