Volunteer Registration

The 2022 USA Dance National Ballroom DanceSport Championships will be held April 1 to 3 2022 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel Pittsburgh, PA. We are soliciting volunteers to help with the event. Why become a volunteer for this event?

• First, you will be part of a prestigious national dance event and see incredible dancing by the competitors
• Part Time Volunteers (If you work 3 or more hours in a session), you get a free admission to that session
• Full time Volunteers (If you work 8 or more hours in a day and agree to be available to do any job as needed when asked), you get admission to the ballroom for the entire day and meal vouchers of $75 per day
• If you are a full-time volunteer for the entire weekend, you also receive an invitation to the Celebration Party Saturday night and the undying gratitude of the entire Nationals staff
• Lastly you can relax between shifts in the dedicated Volunteer room, which is stocked with drinks and snacks.

Volunteer Positions Available:

• Anti-Doping Chaperones:  Escort selected athletes (one chaperone per competitor) from the ballroom to the drug testing suite for drug testing (eight needed, at end of Friday and Saturday night sessions)
• Main Doors: Control entry to the ballroom (one per shift, per session)
• Competitor Door: Allow only competitors to enter the ballroom (one per shift, per session)
• Judges Door:  Allow only judges to enter through this door (one per shift, per session)
• Floor monitors: Manage spectators and competitors to ensure that they comply with the rules while in the ballroom (four per shift, per session)
• Registration:  Assist with competitor Check-In (Five during peak times on Friday and Saturday mornings, one to three needed at other times)
• Ticket Sales: Help with ticket sales (two per shift, per session)
• Deck Area:  Assist Deck Captain to properly line up competitors (one to two per shift, per session)
